Oxford Technical Solutions (OxTS) will be joining Innovatrix as one of our exhibitors at the upcoming DZOM EXPO taking place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Centre in Chicago, IL, on December 3–4, 2024. 

OxTS is passionate about inertial navigation and how they can help our customers with our technology. Using two decades of experience in combining the best of high-precision GNSS receivers and world-class inertial navigation expertise, OxTS’ GNSS/INS products are supplied with a comprehensive software suite including powerful data analysis and post-processing applications. 

At OxTS, Inertial Navigation Systems have been their focus for over 25 years. Rather than use expensive sensors, like Fiber Optic Gyroscopes (FOG) or Ring Laser Gyroscopes (RLG), they’ve always opted to develop advanced sensor fusion algorithms and sophisticated calibration techniques to squeeze the necessary performance out of more economical, smaller and lighter sensors. The result is a more commercially-viable range of options that can be deployed at scale.

Every OxTS GNSS/INS provides accurate position, orientation and dynamics measurements in real-time at up to 250 Hz. While each model offers a unique set of specifications and characteristics, they all leverage an OxTS inertial measurement unit and dual-antenna RTK GNSS capability, can be shipped internationally without requiring an export licence, and qualify for free-of-charge support from the OxTS Support team.

Software

The range of software solutions helps OxTS GNSS/INS users to get the most out of their devices. 

NAVsuite:

When a user purchases an INS from OxTS, they receive the NAVsuite application software free of charge. NAVsuite allows a user to configure, monitor, post-process and analyse their INS data. This includes: NAVdisplay, NAVdisplay beta, NAVsolve, NAVgraph and NAVbase. NAVsuit can be used to interact with your OxTS device, configure devices for all applications, monitor multiple devices in real-time, troubleshoot on the fly, and collect data from market-leading hardware.

OxTS Georeferencer:

OxTS Georeferencer is a software tool developed by OxTS that combines navigation data from an INS, with LiDAR data from a range of sensors to create an accurate georeferenced point cloud. Through a simple ‘drag-and-drop’ method, OxTS Georeferencer will take a processed navigation trajectory file (from both OxTS and third-party INS devices) and at the touch of a button, use it to georeference LiDAR data to create a LAS point cloud file that can be viewed in many third party LiDAR software packages. OxTS Georeferencer also has a built-in boresight calibration tool that will align the coordinate frames of the sensors on a payload to eliminate pointcloud blurring and double-vision.

OxTS ROS Drivers:

The ROS (Robot Operating System) provides open-source libraries and tools to help software developers create autonomous and robotic applications. The OxTS ROS Driver provides an interface for OxTS INS products, such as the AV200, and decodes the NCOM output to provide position, velocity, orientation and other navigation data in the ROS message format for consumption in a wider ROS network. The interface allows developers to easily integrate the OxTS systems into their stack and utilise the combined GNSS and IMU sensor fusion for precise position, localisation, and dynamic control. 

RT-Range Suite

The RT-Range software enables Engineers to configure accurate ADAS test scenarios, that are compatible with industry safety standards such as Euro NCAP, IIHS and others. Engineers can survey lanes to generate map files, configure detailed 2D profiles of Hunter and Target vehicles, as well as map up to 12 independent sensor points and their field of view on the Hunter vehicle. Alongside real-time monitoring systems and a post-processing application, the RT-Range software provides precise Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure measurements for end-to-end ADAS testing.

Application solutions

gx/ix™ tight-coupling processing

gx/ix™ is OxTS’ proprietary software application that provides users with an increased amount of time spent with accurate data where GNSS conditions are difficult. It is made up of OxTS’ RTK/PPK navigation processing engine and tightly-coupled integration of the GNSS and IMU sensors.

Georeferencing and boresight tool

OxTS Georeferencer is a software tool developed by OxTS to combine INS navigation data with raw LiDAR data. It can be used alongside any INS to create a georeferenced 3D point cloud.

Generic Aiding Data (GAD) Interface

Using the OxTS GAD Interface allows you to easily feed additional sensor data into your OxTS navigation engine to improve performance in areas where it is difficult to obtain consistent, uninterrupted GNSS signal.

LiDAR Inertial Odometry (LIO)

OxTS manufacture cutting edge GNSS-aided Inertial Navigation Systems (INS). OxTS INS devices are used across the world in a multitude of applications where accurate and reliable localisation and groundtruth data is required.

RT-Range

The new generation RT3000 v4 brings together trusted, proven precision measurement capabilities, advanced connectivity capabilities and the intelligence of the RT-Range S Hunter technology.

Indoor Positioning System – Pozyx 2GAD

With the OxTS’ Pozyx 2GAD (to Generic Aiding Data) solution, you can enhance the data accuracy by enabling real-time position updates, provided by a Pozyx ultra-wideband system, to be fused with your OxTS INS inertial measurements for improved navigation performance in the absence of GNSS signals.

Services

OxTS offer end-to-end support services to power the performance of your INS. They provide calibrations, support and training for INS and RT-ANA products with customers being able to choose between two different calibration services: a basic version or an ISO 17025 calibration. OxTS also offer custom development projects, offering cooperation on any bespoke products to integrate OxTS products and board-sets into existing or future systems.
